I-HELP
That stands for Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program and is a partner ministry with the City of Tempe and TCAA. Our church provides overnight shelter – each Monday evening – and dinner – a task shared by local congregations – to program participants in our neighborhood.

Little Pantry for our Food Insecure Neighbors
In conjunction with our sibling congregation, Guardian Angels Ecumenical Catholic Community, we offer non-perishable bag lunches daily 9-10am. We distributed over 11,000 lunches last year in addition to clothes, shoes, and hygiene items every day. Please click here for a list of items we are accepting as donations!

Just Coffee
Community exclusively serves organic, shade-grown Arabica coffee purchased from a cooperative in Chiapas, Mexico. Because this coffee is purchased directly from the growers, who control the entire process from growing to roasting, packaging, and selling the beans, the growers get almost 5 times more money than even “fair trade.” Our local “Coffee Minister” brings coffee weekly in case you run out and need more!

Humane Borders
Our church provides volunteers to maintain water stations in the desert near the US-Mexico border. This humanitarian effort is an attempt to prevent the hundreds of migrant deaths each year trying to cross our border. To learn more, go here.

Green Team
Community Christian Church works hard to use less of our earth’s resources by recycling and reusing. We are a ‘Green Chalice Church’ as we have policies which limit our usage of paper products at our church functions. We have installed programmable thermostats on our heating and cooling units and replaced our light fixtures with the new energy efficient low wattage lights. We have installed solar panels on a parking structure on our campus for the general use of electricity on our campus. We are also a Congregational Member of Arizona Interfaith Power and Light (to learn more about AZIPL, go here).

Study/Prayer Groups
We have several groups that meet regularly, both online and in person, including a monthly women’s group and bi-weekly (online) men’s group. Our Bible Study, Book Study, and Prayer Group schedules vary by season, so be sure to check our calendar under the Events tab for more details.

Cooling Center
During the hottest months of the year, we operate a Cooling Center for neighbors experiencing housing insecurity and heat vulnerability.
Community Christian Church is part of a denomination called the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
